With the start of the new season now upon us I would like to welcome both new and established players of the Wisbech and District Table Tennis Association. I cannot believe that we are now starting our 63rd year, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all, because without you it would not have happened.
Although we still only have one division I would like to welcome The Fossils, a new team to the League which increases our numbers to eleven.
Each team will play each other home and away in the league programme. The Challenge Cup and Parker Shield will again be played as knock-out competitions. The Handicap Sleight Doubles will be played on a group basis, as it has been for the last three seasons. Once again each pairing will be handicapped which hopefully will give each team a more equal chance of success. The draw for all three events has already been made and is included in the fixture table and matches should take place in the scheduled week on the league home night detailed in the handbook.
With the Institute teams moving their venue to the Wisbech Squash Club you will notice a change of team names, but the players remain the same.
Finally, I would like to thank all those who have assisted the Association last season, and I look forward to your valued support again this season. Please remember that this handbook serves as a registration card, which you should be able to produce at the request of the opposition.
